EASY CHOCOLATE-CHERRY BROWNIES

1 jar (16 oz) Maraschino cherries - 1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 pkg (21 oz) Duncan Hines Chewy Fudge Brownie Mix, family size, 13X9 pan size
3 eggs - 1/2 cup vegetable oil - 1/2 cup water
3/4 cup quaker Oats - 1 cup chocolate chip pieces - 2 tbsp vegetable shortening.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom of pan with shortening or cooking spray.
-Drain cherries; save 12 whole cherries and chop the remainder.
-Stir brownie mix, eggs, water, and oil in large bowl until well blended (about 50 strokes)
-Stir in Quaker Oats and blend well. Add chopped cherries and nuts and blend well.
-Spread into greased 9X13 in. baking pan.
-Bake about 23 minutes or until brownies pull away from side of pan. Cool completely.
-Cut whole cherries in half; place on top of brownies.
- In heavy saucepan over low heat, melt 1 cup chocolate chips and shortening. Stir until mixture is melted and smooth.
- Drizzle over brownies. Cut into 24 squares.
